Job Summary
The General Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of our online business, ensuring business goals and revenue targets are achieved. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in e-commerce, supply chain management, and strategic planning. We need someone who can manage the business and drive the restructuring of our operations to support growth and scalability. The General Manager will lead a diverse team and collaborate with various departments to drive growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day marketplace operations, ensuring product listings, pricing, and inventory are optimized across Amazon, The Range, Wayfair, B&Q, and other platforms.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance product visibility, rankings, and conversion rates.
Monitor and analyze platform performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and coordinating team efforts to optimize results.
Ensure brand consistency across platforms and coordinate with design and content teams to improve product presentation and user experience.
* Strategic Planning and Execution:
* Develop and implement business strategies to drive online sales growth and market expansion.
* Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth across various functions, including marketing, sales, operations, and customer service.
* Operational Management:
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for senior management.
* Manage inventory, logistics, and supply chain to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
* Business Restructuring:
* Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Develop and implement restructuring plans to enhance efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
* Ensure alignment of restructuring efforts with overall business strategy.
* Sales and Marketplace Management:
* Oversee and optimize sales through various online marketplaces, including Amazon, eBay, and other platforms.
* Develop strategies to maximize sales and visibility on these marketplaces.
* Manage relationships with marketplace representatives and handle all aspects of marketplace operations.
* Team Leadership and Development:
* Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
* Identify training and development needs to enhance team capabilities.
* Marketing and Sales:
* Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute online marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media.
* Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
* Product Development:
* Work with the product development team to expand and enhance the product range based on market demand and customer feedback.
* Ensure products meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
* Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in e-commerce, retail management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Skills:
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent strategic planning and organizational abilities.
* Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
* In-depth knowledge of online marketing strategies and e-commerce platforms.
* Experience in selling online through various marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.
* Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, ),
* previous experience in using Linnworks will be beneficial
* previous experience in leading and growing online marketplaces across Amazon, The Range, Wayfair, B&Q, and other e-commerce channels
