An excellent, well-resourced secondary school in Wiveliscombe is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant. You may have worked as a support worker, in-class support worker or a Learning Support Advisor previously. You may have a related qualification or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience. You would be able to support children with a range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),sensory, speech and language impairments?and?behavioural difficulties. The person selected for this role needs to be confident in handling challenging behaviour. The school has great feedback from parents and supply staff. The staff team is supportive and welcoming. The school is much easier to access by car drivers, you will need to have your own mode of transport. The school needs people who can commit to 5 days a week. If you are experienced and able to work full time this can be reflected in your rate of pay. You will need to be confident in adapting the lesson activity according to the pupil's individual needs. The school requires staff to be competent in creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment for the pupils to achieve and thrive. The pay rate is £14.13 an hour. The day is 7 hours including an unpaid 30 min lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £91.84 but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience. Including holiday pay Essential criteria: - Previous experience working with individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/SEMH is desirable - Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) - At least one recent child-based reference and relevant DBS/ Police checks.
