Do you have a passion for Cloud cost efficiency & sustainability, and a desire to mature our FinOps culture?
As a Cloud Analyst - FinOps Specialist, within the Cloud team, you'll use your FinOps expertise along with our tooling to help drive insight and recommendations on how to improve cost efficiency, sustainability & modernisation within our multi cloud estate.
You'll work collaboratively with our Product, Engineering and Finance teams. With your strong analytical skills, you'll translate financial insights into actionable recommendations. Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes, and look for new ways to develop existing reporting and processes.
You will drive your own development and have ample support and training to do so where required. With the constantly evolving landscape in cloud, it'll be important to identify your development needs and the best way to grow them.
What you need to do
* You will part of the Cloud FinOps team, collaborating with another Cloud analyst, an Agile team consisting of two engineers, a product manager, an engineering manager and a delivery manager
* Your main objective will be to provide analytical insights for our Technical teams, and will work across the core brands of Sainsbury's, Argos, Tu and Habitat .
* You will bring a strong analytical foundation and will need to understand how Sainsbury's operates. This knowledge will enable you to propose and recommend effective approaches for data analysis to reduce Cloud Spend
* You will develop & maintain relationships with your stakeholders, championing a collaborative approach to requirements gathering and the formation of compelling analysis. While staying confident in questioning a proposed strategy or approach to analysis.
* We move at pace, whilst still delivering high quality, accurate, professional outputs that land the real truths that sit within the data. You will proactively ensuring you are always in touch with the 'Why' behind every task- understanding the purpose of your analysis, and which decisions the business is looking to inform.
* You will take pride in your work, have brilliant attention to detail, and enjoy presenting findings with empathy towards both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Possessing the ability to translate complex concepts into easily digestible stories with data, which in turn inspire action.

What you need to know and show
* As a Cloud team member, you are a curious analyst with an analytical mindset with the ability to tell a story with data.
* An agile and innovative thinker, you'll be able to think creatively with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving and producing ideas.
* You will be excited by cloud and retail; you'll be curious about data and the adoption of new technologies and tools.
* You will be an excellent communicator, credible and articulate, with good presentation and relationship building skills.
* Able to build trust with stakeholders and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Not essential but ideally some experience of FinOps concepts like Reserved Instances, Rightsizing and Savings Plans, and cloud computing services with knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cost portals, Cloudability / Cloudhealth or other cost optimisation tool(s).
* Optional- Any certification in FinOps such as the FinOps certified cloud practitioner certification
* We are seeking candidates with experience in large, complex organisations involving multiple teams and diverse technology stacks ideally with some financial experience.
* You will have knowledge and appreciation of financial management principles and experience in financial analysis and reporting. This includes experience in financial modelling and cost analysis. Optionally with budgeting, and forecasting.
* With your proficiency in data analysis tools & techniques, along with strong communication and collaboration skills, you'll be able to work closely with internal teams, including Technology and Finance to drive and develop the FinOps Culture and help modernise our Cloud estate.
