Workshop Fabricator / Welder
Due to expansion and growth, a permanent position has arisen for a Welder/Fabricator in Glasgow.
The Role:
Fabrication and Welding of Benches, Shafts, Rollers, etc in the workshop.
Working Hours:
Dayshift: 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, Friday 07:30 to 13:00.
Rate of Pay: £15.50 - £16.50 per hour depending on experience + enhanced rates for overtime.
Primary Objectives:
Welding and fabrication in a workshop setting.
Working knowledge of surface welding and fabrication to company and EN10-90 standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Time served welder/fabricator. Must be conscientious in approach to welding and fabrication to ensure high standards and quality.
* Act with honesty, integrity, and accountability.
* Ability to work well in a team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
An NC/HNC in welding/fabrication preferred but not essential; at least 4 years’ experience in the above role.
Broad knowledge of welding and fabrication operations and procedures as required for the role may include:
* Manual Metal Arc (MMA)
* Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)
* Metal Active/Metal Inert Gas (MAG/MIG)
* Gas Shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
* Oxy-Acetylene cutting/welding
* Machine/workshop power tools and machinery.
Experienced working with a variety of materials including mild steel, austenitic stainless steel, and aluminium.
