The Company We are looking to procure an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join an award-winning Group Company based on the outskirts of Exeter. The Group owns and manages a large and diverse portfolio of buildings across the Exeter area from innovative new commercial offices and energy-efficient eco workplaces to Grade 2 listed buildings, Holiday homes and Lodges. Their Building and Property division that manages this portfolio for the group is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their happy team. About the Role They are seeking a versatile and skilled Maintenance Electrician Person to join their team. You will be based at their head office for 75% of your time, with the odd trip out to other properties in the local area. This hands-on role requires a balance of electrical expertise and practical, general maintenance skills, ensuring their properties are safe, functional, and efficient. In addition to technical tasks, you will assist with physical duties and general upkeep. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine and reactive electrical work, including installations, repairs, fault finding, and system maintenance to a professional standard. General Repairs and Maintenance: Handle a range of non-electrical tasks, such as basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs, as required. Routine Inspections: Carry out routine inspections of electrical systems, safety devices, and general property conditions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Urgent Response: Respond swiftly to urgent maintenance requests, whether electrical or general, and prioritise effectively to minimise disruption. Lifting and Shifting: Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment, and other items as part of maintenance or improvement projects. Improvement Works: Participate in small-scale improvement projects, including upgrades and installations, ensuring quality and efficiency. Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working order, ensuring readiness for use. About You: Qualified Electrician: You’ll hold relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and 18th Edition). Diverse Portfolio Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years working across a variety of property types, including commercial offices, residential buildings, and mixed-use facilities. Happy to help out: You’ll be happy to support the team when required with other basic non electrical maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs. Proactive and Adaptable: You approach tasks with a solution-focused mindset, can prioritise effectively, and are comfortable adapting to changing needs and unexpected situations. Problem-Solver: You have strong analytical skills to diagnose issues quickly and resolve them efficiently. Safety-Conscious: You have a thorough understanding of health and safety protocols and always prioritise a safe working environment. Physically Capable: You are able to handle manual tasks such as lifting, shifting, and working in various conditions (e.g., confined spaces or outdoor environments).
