It's a busy and exciting time for the brand and we’re on the hunt for a Assistant Buyer to join our growing Marketplace team.
The purpose of this role is to support the Buyer to deliver a profitable range that will be sold through the Marketplace model.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Support the buyer to deliver the strategy, ensuring margin and profit targets are always met.
2. Managing the outstanding orders along with supporting the Assistant Merch with PO commitment for each marketplace, replacing cancellations where possible and managing the line detail.
3. Sound understanding of the Business Strategy and how that impacts your Department
4. Responsibility for the development of the marketplace admin assistant, managing them and overseeing their daily tasks including CP management.
5. Monitor returns rates and take necessary action, escalating to the buyer when there are issues at MG and style level.
6. Work closely with BMD to support the Buyer to trade the range in-season, based on sales performance, returns and trends.
7. Build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
8. Take ownership of selected marketing groups to select a profitable range from the core New Look selection.
Technical Knowledge & Experience
9. Able to support Buyer to build a comprehensive product range
10. Understanding of supply chain issues / cost – ( product lead times/ flexibility/ supplier capability)
Able to support:
11. Understanding of the marketplace set up
12. Understanding of strategic needs of division
13. Understanding of New Look brand and sub-brand strategy and key customer
14. A knowledge of the current competitive international marketplaces (comparative shopping)
15. Understanding BMD launch plans and phasing
16. Ability to identify relevant product trends in global retail market place (directional shopping)
17. Basic knowledge of the elements that make up the cost of a product
18. Ability to review sales data and suggest commercial recommendations to Buyer and Merchandiser
