We are looking to recruit a dedicated resilient practitioner to join our Family Help team with the aim to enable more children to remain at home safely with their families. As a Domestic Abuse Worker, you will undertake specialist support to families and individuals experiencing domestic abuse, working alongside Social Workers/Family Practitioners to promote safety and well-being and prevent escalation of need. You will embrace Norfolk Vital Signs for children as an approach that underpins your work with children and families. You will contribute to multi agency working and provide specialist knowledge in the field of domestic violence to ensure positive outcomes for children, young people and their families. You should have a minimum of three years’ experience of working directly with children and families. You will be confident delivering interventions one-to-one with families or on a group basis, have experience of face-to-face work with victims and/or perpetrators of domestic abuse and their families, understand domestic abuse including the impact on victims and their families and understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children. With an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, you will also undertake Signs of Safety, Restorative Practice and Solihull training. You will have relevant experience of providing services for children, young people and their families, and a thorough understanding of child development from birth to 19 including factors which impede overall development. In order to support families when they most need it, Domestic Abuse Workers are contracted to work 37 hours per week, from Monday to Sunday. You will be required - on occasion - to work outside of normal office working hours, including evenings, mornings and weekends. You will be required to travel as part of your duties and you may be required, at short notice, to transport young people between a variety of rural and urban locations.
