Our Client is looking for a Head of Audit and compliance to join their international finance business.
Purpose and objectives of the role
Responsible for ensuring an effective Compliance and Audit function is in place and ensuring that Credit Resource Solutions chosen compliance management framework is being effectively and consistently implemented, across all business areas.
The Head of Audit and Compliance will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements, as stipulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, for Consumer Credit firms. They will also be responsible for thought leadership in all aspects of regulatory compliance, including the implementing and overseeing of the Firms compliance culture and training/awareness at all levels within the Firm, including through the implementation of an effective and proportionate audit schedule.
Main duties and responsibilities
The implementation of the Firms compliance strategy, overseeing the Compliance Functions approach to implementing the framework, and reporting to the Board with regards to the effectiveness of the Firms compliance systems and controls
Carrying out regular second line-of-defence, and organise third line-of-defence, reviews of the Firms compliance with all application regulations
Monitoring and reporting on the Firms day-to-day adherence to its regulatory compliance policies, controls, and procedures
Maintain & Uphold the Companies ISO accreditations
Providing information to the Board on the status of Credit Resource Solutions' risk and control environment, including the compliance culture of the Firm (assurance)
Training to staff and key stakeholders regarding their compliance obligations
Providing compliance advice to the business on their day to day requirements
Recommending improvements and monitoring to ensure correction.
Assisting with improvements where there is no conflict of interest regarding independence and the lines of defence
Providing second line-of-defence assurances, in compliance with SYSC 6.1 of the FCA Handbook
Liaise with and report to regulators and law enforcement agencies (including performing any required licence applications)
Handling the preparation work and management of inspections by the regulator / supervisor
Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with industry experts, regulators and law enforcement officials to understand current expectations and ensure these are implemented into the business on an ongoing basis
Working to develop Compliance guidance materials, training resources, and controls, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, including Consumer Duty
Providing support and guidance / advice to all areas of the business in relation to regulatory requirements, including implications of future business strategies and products (New Product Approvals)
Completion of all client & prospective clients due diligence
Acting as a regulatory subject matter expert for the business and point of reference to address related queries and ensure the Compliance team provide appropriate and correct advice through monitoring of responses

Experience
Significant experience of reporting at Executive and Board level
Experience of working within a financial services/consumer credit environment
Strong knowledge of consumer credit regulations in the United Kingdom
Experience of acting within an advisory capacity in relation to the delivery ofstrategic and operational objectives relating to regulatory compliance
Experience with engaging with regulatory authorities such as the FCA
Experience of investigating compliance related incidents
