Position:
We are looking for a full time Quality Auditor to join us at our Wigston site in Leicester to assist the Quality Manager with the responsibility of Quality and Food Safety management systems.
Main Responsibilities:
* Stock management of the sundry items and to source and liaise with suppliers of sundry items.
* Daily monitoring of product quality at Wigston 1 and to carry out the positive release for products.
* To hold any non-conforming products and raw materials.
* To manage the repacking system.
* To manage and plan the factory cleaning and liaise with the contractor, including high level and silo cleaning.
* Taking part in trials, tracking, planning, organisation and review during NPD/EPD.
* To carry out factory inspections/checks (e.g. hygiene, brittle materials, foreign bodies, GMP, conveyor checks etc).
* To ensure the traceability procedures are followed and to carry out traceability tests.
* To investigate customer complaints as requested by the Quality Manager.
* Raise and conduct full investigation of non-conformities, liaising with all relevant departments.
* To carry out the internal calibration of equipment.
* Ensure raw material compliance and liaise with suppliers regarding it.
* To be a trained internal auditor and conduct internal audits and help prepare audits and visits.
* To organise taste panels, as required by customers.
* Resolving food safety and quality issues which arise.
Requirements:
* Quality Auditing qualification and Food Safety Level 3 certificate.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work to deadlines and on own initiative.
* IT – Microsoft Office Suite.
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Ability to analyse trends and problems and make recommendations/decisions.
* Previous production experience required.
* Assertive.
* Flexibility (role will involve working weekends, Bank Holidays and on occasions working of normal working hours).
