FULL AND PART TIME HOURS AVAILABLE On Ward D1 you will work part of a multidisciplinary team made up of 8 Gastroenterology Consultants, a specialist dietician, and pharmacist. We also have a team of nutrition nurse specialists who work closely with the gastroenterology team. There is ward-based training and our clinical director of gastroenterology is supportive of SIMS training.
D1 is a 25 bedded acute ward. Whilst the ward is fast-paced, we work as a team to provide a high standard of care to our patients.
We will offer a supportive induction to the ward and ensure all competencies and training are provided in order for you to be the best nurse you can be.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Communicate with patients, carers, family and relatives as part of effective patient care.
* Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team in relation to patients' care and needs.
* Provide feedback to the department from courses undertaken.
Responsibility for Patient Care
* Assess the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
* Work in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement/improve standards of patient care.
* Liaise with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation ensuring confidentiality.
* Uphold the Trust's dignity and respect standards First Impressions.
* Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
