Qpoint delivers an External Quality Assessment service specifically designed for users of point of care testing equipment.
Delivered by NHS professionals, our friendly team send regular test samples and reports, offering advice and guidance to enable service users to produce the highest quality results from their point of care testing equipment.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to complement our multidisciplinary team to deliver the Qpoint External Quality Assessment Schemes.
The job role will be within normal business hours, Monday to Friday and based in Aldershot Centre for Health.
Essential qualities expected are efficiency, being well organised, having good communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and good keyboard skills. In addition, you should be a reliable individual who is able to demonstrate good practical skills and work as part of a team. You must be keen to embrace new ways of working and develop your knowledge and skills. Support and encouragement will be given for career development.
You will be expected to work according to our working time compliant shift system as specified above and on rare occasions may be required to work at the Wexham Park Hospital site to maintain quality, training and service requirements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the preparation of testing samples and administrate all aspects of the scheme under the supervision of a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist. The post holder is required to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times for any tasks carried out. There is a requirement to communicate with service users, pathology staff, hospital staff, porters, drivers and couriers.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Good basic level of education. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Knowledge of MS programs including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Desirable criteria
* Experience and use of bespoke IT software.
* ECDL or similar.
Experience

* Evidence of good customer service skills.
* Evidence of good administration skills.
Desirable criteria
* Laboratory experience.
* External quality assessment experience.
* Experience with point of care testing.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Able to communicate effectively in a variety of forums including face to face and virtual meetings, telephone calls and emails.
* Proficient computer/IT skills.
* Functional Maths and English.
* Ability to handle challenging situations including client complaints.
Desirable criteria
* Use of specialist laboratory software.
* Evidence of laboratory competence.
Special Requirements
Essential criteria
* Ability to adhere to strict deadlines, even in high activity and demanding environments.
* Good co-ordination and dexterity to conduct laboratory procedures.
* Attention to detail to ensure maintenance of accurate records.
* Able to meet the travel requirements of the role (can independently travel to BSPS sites).
* Ability to work safely and competency in a laboratory environment that handles and manipulates clinical specimens.
