Main duties of the job
The role will include undertaking the assessment of the young person's mental health needs alongside your colleagues.
You'll be working 1-1 with young people in providing the treatment plan, drawing on a variety of interventions that may involve multi-agency networking where necessary.
You will be offered in house training in a number of evidence-based interventions, for example DBT skills, Mentalisation based therapy, motivational interviewing and compassionate focused therapy to name just a few.
The main duties of the job are:
1. Comprehensive assessment of children and young people presenting to the service. BANES CAMHS have a multi disciplinary clinic working with colleagues to assess and make the best plan for young people.
2. Shared formulation, risk assessment and care planning
3. Multi agency working
4. Delivery and/or oversight of collaborative treatment plan using evidence-based interventions
5. Support and supervision of colleagues
6. Being part of the on-call rota covering out of hours contact from professionals.

You will be supported by excellent team knowledge and experience on a formal/informal basis. Clinical and managerial supervision are augmented with profession specific supervision. We are investing heavily in training and preceptorships to develop staff skills. We have a thorough induction process.

Essential criteria
18. Relevant professional qualification e.g. registered Mental Health Nurse, registered Learning Disability Nurse, registered Occupational Therapist, registered Children’s Social Worker
19. Current registration with relevant professional body – eg NMC, HCPC, GSW
20. Evidence of continuous professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
21. Experience of and commitment to working in a multi-agency setting working in partnership with a range of health, social care and education professionals.
22. Relevant experience in a community setting / inpatient setting
23. Experience of working with families, carers and significant others
24. Experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs.
25. Ability to carry out assessments and psycho-social interventions
