Building Services Technician

Location: The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Gateshead
Working hours: 36 hours, shift-based incl some evening/weekend work
Salary: SCP 27 - £27,553
About The Glasshouse International Centre for Music

About you
Are you self-motivated, happy working in a team environment and flexible enough to adapt to a changing environment? If this sounds

It would be great if you had experience in:
* Experience in building maintenance or facilities management
* Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
* Ability to carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Good communication and teamwork skills
It also helps if you have:
* Recognised qualification in a trade
* Experience working in a large venue or commercial environment
* Health and safety training, including knowledge of risk assessments
* Experience using building systems (such as BMS/EBI etc)
You’ll be responsible for:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the venue operates smoothly
* Regularly inspect and check building systems to keep everything running smoothly.
* Find, fix, and respond to maintenance issues like leaks, electrical problems, and general repairs.
* Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
* Support the wider maintenance team in ensuring health and safety compliance
* Respond to urgent maintenance issues promptly to minimise disruption
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and inspections
