We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity to join NOV as a Project Manager in with our Fiber Glass Systems UK team in Plymouth. We are a manufacturing company that provide composite and thermoplastic materials and we offer full in-house product and process training. Our projects range from low value supply of stock materials to multi-million projects involving engineering, design, fabrication, installation and training with leading global, marine and offshore customers.
As part of a global company, you will develop professionally and personally by interacting with international customers in technically challenging and diverse projects, from contract award through to installation and close-out. If you don’t have project management certification already, we are happy to support you in achieving the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) certification.
You will act as the primary point of contact for our customers and utilize your effective communication skills. In addition, your planning and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in your success in this role. Internally, you will work with our diverse technical, fabrication and field service teams, driving progress and deadlines to ensure that we deliver according to the agreement with the customer and on budget.
You will:
1. Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
2. Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget.
3. Identify future opportunities and changes to project scope, working with the Sales team to secure variation orders.
4. Work with Technical Managers and Engineers to ensure technical compliance and troubleshoot issues.
5. Work with Procurement and directly with suppliers to manage supply of materials for your projects.
The ideal candidate will:
6. Demonstrate planning skills, either as a Project Manager or in another role. Project Management certification would be an advantage.
7. Have a commercial and financial understanding and experience with budgeting.
8. Demonstrate IT literacy, with a willingness to learn and adapt to managing data through our ERP system.
9. Have the ability to understand technical drawings, though internal training will be provided.
The position is based in Plymouth, but we are open for candidates within the UK that are willing to relocate and with current right to work.
