MUST COME FROM A SOFTWARE ENGINEERING OR QA BACKGROUND Job Title: Agile Delivery Lead Department: Programme & Staff Management Role Holder: Vacancy Role Purpose: The Agile Delivery Lead (ADL) will oversee the iterative delivery of software development projects aligned with product roadmaps within the organization’s Agile methodology. The ADL will work closely with various engineering team leads to assist in the coordination, planning, delivery, and reporting of work across multiple teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. The primary responsibility of the ADL will be managing the planning and reporting of Agile projects, leading and encouraging Agile practices, maintaining the hygiene of associated artifacts, and ensuring that projects are successfully delivered. The role requires close collaboration with the wider team to understand resource obligations, dependencies, and risks, enabling achievable and predictable delivery goals. The ADL will facilitate the effective implementation of the Scrum framework within development teams, ensuring that Agile methodologies are consistently followed. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile principles and the ability to foster a collaborative, productive environment. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with development team leaders to manage project implementation according to product roadmaps, ensuring deliverables are met. Work across multiple Agile teams to enable and encourage Agile practices in line with the Scrum framework. Ensure development projects are properly planned, scoped, and estimated by working with technical team leaders, product owners, and business analysts. Track milestones and collect data on project progress for board reporting, exception reporting, and management review; actively monitor projects to ensure delivery objectives are achieved. Facilitate Scrum events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team's progress, ensuring smooth delivery. Provide coaching and support to team members on Agile practices and principles. Maintain transparency in the team’s progress and performance through effective communication and reporting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Work closely with product owners, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective project delivery. Track and report on key metrics to measure team performance and progress, ensuring time tracking is appropriately managed. Ensure project risks, issues, and actions are captured, tracked, and escalated when needed. Collaborate with other ADLs to gather data on appropriate Agile metrics, optimizing team efficiency and ways of working. Perform Jira administration, including workflow configuration, process automation, user support, and implementing best practices. Partner with functional leads to address team dynamics and provide constructive feedback. Manage the near-term delivery schedule, ensuring that priorities are properly aligned. Required Knowledge & Experience: The ideal candidate will have significant experience in technical (IT) Agile project management, preferably within a complex software environment. Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification is required. The successful candidate should have the ability to engage in technical discussions with engineers and analysts, bridging the gap between technical teams and business or management personnel. A strong understanding of common technical challenges in software delivery and Agile project management is essential. A background in managing Agile projects and a proven track record of successful delivery in complex environments is expected. Previous experience as a Scrum Master or equivalent exposure to Scrum methodologies would be highly advantageous. Ability to manage the planning, delivery, and reporting of projects in an Agile environment. Skilled in facilitating Scrum ceremonies and providing leadership in an Agile context.
