Location: This role could be based out of our Birmingham, Telford, Edinburgh or London offices, on a hybrid basis.

Salary and benefits: £65,000 to £90,000 plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role
We’re currently recruiting for Actuaries to join our Actuarial Review team within the Financial Reporting Centre, including SII and IFRS reporting metrics. You will provide a professional service applying actuarial technical knowledge & business knowledge to support the delivery of informed & effective decision making in order to deliver the company strategy.
In this role, you will become an expert in actuarial reporting across the Phoenix business and will help produce the regular regulatory (Solvency II and IFRS17) results as part of a team of review actuaries. You will be a key subject matter expert and will have the opportunity to work with people throughout the business on a key business line and on projects given the significant change agenda within Phoenix. You will also work with the Financial Planning team to ensure that changes impacting the funds from around the business are allowed for appropriately to feed into wider business decisions.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for:
* A qualified or newly qualified actuary with experience in actuarial reporting, or other life actuarial disciplines.
* Knowledge of financial reporting metrics, including IFRS17 and SII, is desirable, as is experience of reporting on those metrics.
* Knowledge of reporting on a range of product lines, including annuity, bulk annuity, unit-linked and with-profits is desirable.
* Experience delivering consistent quality work within fixed and often tight deadlines is highly relevant to the role.
* Experience in working in a team and demonstrating the ability to work with and support colleagues.
* Someone who has experience of developing processes and improving controls.
* Someone who is keen to learn quickly in a changing environment having a strong appetite for change and experience of driving continuous improvement will fit well with the role.
* The role will require a mix of both technical and communication skills and someone who works well in a team.
