Specialist Coordinator – Course Administration Management (Planning & Resource Hub) UK Defence Academy, Shrivenham, SN6 8LA Permanent, Full Time, (Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week) £26,900 per annum plus benefits The Planning and Resource Hub are seeking a proactive Specialist Coordinator to join our dynamic team and help us elevate the service we provide to our customers and to be the integral support to a team of three Lead Administrators. Serco at the Defence Academy provides Facilities Management across all aspects of the site including Estates, Logistics, various Supporting Services, together with Cleaning, Catering and Waste Management through ESS. Key Responsibilities: Undertake higher-level administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations on a day-to-day basis. Assist and deputise for the Team Leader when necessary, including 1-2-1s with the team. Initial point of contact for the area of responsibility regarding administrative support issues. Taking a pro-active role within the Department; liaising with the customer and generally being fully conversant with the departmental aims and objectives. Actively participate in projects and groups across the site, fostering collaboration and innovation. Share best practices and continuous improvement ideas with peers. Monitor workloads of administrative staff, coordinating and controlling incoming work as directed by the customer. Make practical judgments and work unsupervised to maintain efficiency. Report directly to the Team Leader for line management functions and assist with administrative and secretarial tasks as directed by the customer. Close liaison with the other departments/external agencies on site and off site as required. What you need to do the job: Sound understanding of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Able to use a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour). Must be methodical, have proven organisational skills and able to work under pressure. Problem solving skills are a must in this role. Excellent customer service skills. It is essential that the successful candidate is PC literate, with a good level of experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel. You will have to gain enhanced clearance within the first 3 months of employment. Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
