Full time (35 hours) - Remote with reasonable in-person meetings (approx. 9-12 per year)
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Corporate Compliance team, within the Finance Directorate. This is a varied and dynamic role which would suit someone with a passion for all thing regulatory, but with an ability to work with teams across the organisation to ensure compliance, whilst understanding that each team has its own priorities. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a compliance environment and will have managed Data Subject Access Requests and other regulatory requirements. They will a good knowledge of the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and will have experience of writing and reviewing corporate policies, producing statistics and updating reports.
The role
Regulatory Compliance
-Assist with the identification of regulatory changes which may impact on CILEX and contribute to the development of systems/policies etc to meet those regulatory requirements, for regulators under the remit of the Corporate Compliance team.
-Ensure the Corporate Compliance Manager is kept fully briefed on all compliance issues and identify with the Corporate Compliance Manager areas for development and review.
Risk Management
-Assist in the monitoring & reporting of risks across CILEX, and maintenance of the strategic and operational and local team risk registers.
Complaints
-Assist the Senior Compliance Officer with handling and resolving complaints.
-Maintain the analysis of complaints data and associated information to inform ongoing improvements to CILEX services, systems, and processes.
Data Protection, Information Governance and Data Security
-To support the Corporate Compliance Manager in ensuring compliance with Data Protection regulations.
-The role is appointed as the Deputy Group Privacy Officer for CILEX.
-Fulfil Data Subject Access Requests and Other Rights requests in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018.
Data and Information Security: Support the Director of Business
-Transformation/IT, to maintain a culture of data security awareness and management.
-Assist in the review of contracts ensure that all relevant and required documentation, such as Data Sharing Agreements and Data Processing Impact Assessments are held.
Incident/Issue Management
-Take part in or lead investigations and management of incidents or issues which could compromise the validity, integrity, or reputation of the CILEX brand.
Policies, Procedures and Processes
-Research, compile, review, and update CILEX policies, procedures, processes, and registers to ensure ongoing operational and regulatory compliance.
Building Planning & Performance Management
-To support the Corporate Compliance Manager in maintaining a system of corporate business planning, developing relevant performance of KPls.
Communications
-Draft compliance updates to ensure that changes and developments are communicated to relevant colleagues and stakeholders.
Committee Management
-Prepare the papers for the Audit and Risk Committee.
Training & Development
-Assist with the provision and delivery of compliance training across the group, ensuring that all statutory training is appropriate.
General
-To provide a high standard of customer service to all CILEX stakeholders.
-To lead and/or participate in projects as required by the Corporate Compliance Manager.
-To represent CILEX at meetings and to deputise for the Corporate Compliance Manager as required at internal and external events and meetings.
Internal Governance Rules (IGRs)
-Undertake level 2 IGR influencer training and work with relevant teams to ensure their on-going compliance.
What we're looking for
Essential:
Educated to A level standard, or equivalent
Knowledge of relevant regulatory bodies, in particular, the ICO
Technically competent in relation to the regulatory requirements
Proven experience of researching and drafting policies and procedures
Experience of setting and monitoring KPIs
Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work with and lead other highly skilled individuals to deliver results to deadlines
The ability to consider the potential implications of ideas and decisions and plan effectively to overcome potential problems
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines
The ability to articulate the findings of research, proposals or recommendations to peers, committees, or other interested parties
Demonstrate the ability to take a diplomatic approach as circumstances required
