The JobBox Delivery Team is committed to supporting local people to find employment and training leading to sustained employment.
We provide high-quality support including coaching and mentoring, enabling progression into positive outcomes. The team offers a drop-in service from Southwater Library, where we provide impartial advice and guidance to both job seekers and those looking to make career progression. Officers manage a caseload of job seekers who may need additional support, providing interventions on a one-to-one or group basis to address barriers and promote positive progression to agreed job/career goals. One-to-one meetings are based on reviewing and updating action plans to focus on routes into education, training, and employment, and generally take place in the community.
Currently, the team is working closely with our local college on a DFE-funded pilot to support young people into Supported Internships.
We work closely with local employers to develop relationships and source work placements/job trials and paid employment.
Applicants will need to be motivated and resilient. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of people who may have barriers to work, which could include long-term health conditions and disabilities. You will need to be both flexible and creative in your approach to customers. Officers will be meeting with local employers, and an awareness of some of the recruitment issues they face would be advantageous.
You will be expected to travel to a variety of venues around the borough efficiently, for which mileage is paid.
