Would you be interested in joining a highly organised Building Control team in Birmingham? My client is currently recruiting for a registered Principal Building Control Surveyor.
This contract is expected to last around 6 months, possibly longer with opportunities for extensions. The rate of pay will be around £60.
Key Tasks:
1. Advise the public on the requirements of Building Regulations and other related legislation.
2. Process complex applications under Building Regulations, liaise with and offer guidance to applicants and draft determinations.
3. Carry out inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, engaging specialist colleagues when required.
4. Respond to dangerous structure call outs.
Experience:
1. Significant experience in building control.
2. Significant stakeholder liaison experience.
3. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Building Regulations in respect of all projects up to and including those which are large and complex.
4. Experience of working under pressure to deliver results within challenging timeframes with limited resources.
5. Good customer relations - Providing specialist planning advice to clients.
6. Experience working within a team environment.
7. Experience in assisting and negotiating with design teams and major stakeholders to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
