South Essex College is the largest provider of technical and vocational education and training for 16-18 year olds, adults, and apprenticeship provision within Essex - and we are growing! We are looking for a motivated and suitably qualified individual to join our dynamic Apprenticeship team to assess our Engineering Technician- Mechatronics Apprentices. You will hold demonstrable industry competence in the Mech/Elec field and have the ability to encourage and inspire young people. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, passion, and a vibrant personality that can motivate Apprentices and provide high-quality assessment & support.
Working alongside employers, the post holder will recruit, train & assess Apprentices towards achievement of their End Point Assessment and will provide excellent customer service to our employers to ensure we are the provider of choice for training & skills. Our ideal candidate will hold an Assessor qualification; however, if you are looking to move into education as part of your career plan, or you may have industry-related skills and experience which could be transferable, we would support you to obtain your Assessor qualification within a specified time frame. In return, we can offer you a team environment that is committed to giving our students the best experience possible to enable them to work competently and confidently in the industry.
The successful candidate will possess:
1. Demonstrable industry experience
2. A minimum level 3 industry relevant qualification
3. An Assessor qualification or willingness to achieve this within a specified time frame
