As a Field Engineer for Diperk youwill respond to the needs of the customer for diagnosis, services,and repairs on Perkins engines in the field. You will also reportback to both the customer and the Diperk team in a timely manner toallow a comprehensive quote to be created on the work completed andif any further recommendations are required.
As thePerkins engine range covers many sectors you will have theopportunity to learn and develop your skills across multipledisciplines including Electrical Power Generation, Construction,Agriculture, Rail, Marine, and many more.

DiPerk PowerSolutions are the only authorised OEM distributor for Perkins inthe UK and Ireland, providing support for complex or minor repairsand regular interval servicing for plant, electric power,agricultural or marine equipment
MajorJobFunctions:
* Communicatewith customer / End user to ensure knowledge of customerprocedures, adhere to site requirements. Provide an estimate ofarrival time.(10%)
* Perform Pre taskassessments to ensure the site and tasks performing are safe and inline with the Diperk/Finning safety standards(20%)
* Carry outcomplex diagnosis to determine the likely cause ofreported Engine problems both mechanical and Electrical includingaftertreatment systems using Perkins EST and specialist diagnosisequipment. Update the customer with any information for the workrequired. Provide a comprehensive detailed report to allow Diperkto construct a quote as requested by thecustomer.(25%)
* Identify the parts requiredto carry out the repair and requisition any parts and determineexpected time of delivery so that a date and time of any necessaryservice re-visit can be agreed with customer.(10%)
* Undertake Major overhauls,minor repairs, and Preventative Maintenance service work on thePerkins engines to the agreed work plan, removing and dispatchingcomponents for specialist attention and re-installing the originalor replacement, to bring the machine up to the requiredstandards. (25%)
* Beingavailable to support a call out Rota for out of hours breakdownsand service requests from our customers, being available forovertime and travel throughout the UK with occasional overnightstays(10%)

Accountability:
* Undertakea local site risk assessment prior to commencing service work,preparing an appropriate method statement in line with standardsituation procedures and principles, or discuss rectification ofsite circumstances with customer and/or Diperk supervisor so thatall work is carried out in accordance with health and safetyrequirements.
* Inspectand test completed machine to ensure unit is operating to expectedperformance levels, reporting any further defects or suspectconditions to the customer to support the ongoing operationaleffectiveness of themachine.
* Finishservice reports and warranty documentation to enable the correctand timely charging of the customer and suppliers.
* Ensure compliancewith all Health and Safety policies andprocedures.
Education&Experience:
* Engineeringqualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* 5years’ experience in a field serviceenvironment.
* Working directly withcustomers.
* Diesel engine or generatorexperience
* MarineEngineering
* Heavy Earth Moving equipmentoperating.
* Construction and staticmachines.
* PowerGeneration
* Full UK drivingLicense.
Forthis role the candidate will be supplied with a service van, laptopand mobile phone they will also receive distributor level trainingusing the latest diagnosticequipment.
