We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our ambitious Global Corporate Specialty (GCS) team in London. This is a great job for an Underwriter or Broker who has worked in frontline insurance and is looking to take the next career step working with a Global Corporate & Specialty Insurance company.
A bit about the job:
Aviva Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) has an exciting growth ambition to achieve £3b GWP over the next five years, a key part of which includes the acquisition of Lloyd’s Probitas. As part of the integration of Aviva GCS and Probitas, we have formed a combined Underwriting Executive Committee, which is where this role sits.
Reporting to the GCS Underwriting Director of Specialty & Real Estate, this role supports in implementing the strategic growth initiatives, including Probitas synergies and other key opportunities that will deliver a step change in achieving our ambition. You will need to be comfortable preparing presentation packs and recommendations for both the Underwriting Executive and Board level.
Responsibilities:
* Delivery of key pivotal initiatives on behalf of the Underwriting Exec & Regular reporting on critical metrics to the Underwriting Exec across the P&L/business and key initiatives
* Collating & building business presentation packs for key internal SLTs and external broker events
* Coordinating & challenging critical deadline management across the GCS/PBS Underwriting Exec to deliver strategic outcomes
* Navigate organisational complexity, facilitate action-based meetings and influence key business partners to achieve strategic outcomes/ambitions
* Act as Office Manager/Lead for Aviva’s temporary office space at 51 Lime Street – ensuring the space is utilised efficiently and safely to deliver desired business outcomes
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Strong business discernment, coupled with excellent project management / facilitation skills
* Excellent written communication and presentation skills, including expert skills in MS Office packages (including PowerPoint and Excel) - able to summarise sophisticated information into clear, concise, and compelling messages for a variety of stakeholders including Board level (e.g., colleagues, SLT, ExCo, Boards)
* Ideally GCS (or Commercial Lines) Market experience, operating in a matrix organisation
* Self-motivated, with an ability to use independent judgment, establish priorities, make decisions, balance multiple issues and challenges at any given moment and adapt to rapidly changing demands
* Strong ability to influence and communicate across the business, and resilience to resistance from stakeholders
