Job Title: Senior Consultant (Evaluation Team)

Accountable to: Evaluation Team Leadership
The Strategy Unit is leading research, analysis, and change from within the NHS. We support healthcare providers, commissioners, universities, charities, and government organisations to solve complex problems by providing evidence-informed analysis and advice.
Main Duties of the Job:
As a Senior Consultant, you will be leading evaluation project teams, working with our clients and taking responsibility for delivery, while being supported to develop and grow your skills and interests.
We are looking for someone with experience in managing evaluation projects with strong qualitative research and writing skills. Experience in leading mixed methods evaluations is of particular interest to us, but not essential.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as the day-to-day lead contact for clients as Project Manager across multiple projects.
2. Work with the Project Director to develop and deliver the programme of work, managing and monitoring resources.
3. Deliver qualitative work, including the development of topic guides, participant information sheets, stakeholder interviews, and report writing.
4. Ensure a DPIA is agreed with the client for each project, maintaining high ethical standards and information governance requirements.
5. Support the delivery and reporting of impact evaluations, interpreting complex findings for non-specialist audiences.
6. Attend and contribute to developmental working groups aligned with your interests.
Person Specification:
Education/Qualifications:
* Masters degree or equivalent level of experience.
Experience:
* Experience of managing medium-sized or complex projects including budgets and team capacity.
* Experience of proposal writing and contributing to winning work.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:
* Ability to design, manage, and deliver qualitative methodologies to meet clients' needs.
* Knowledge of quantitative evaluation methods and how to integrate qualitative and quantitative evaluation findings.
Flexible Working:
The Strategy Unit has an office in central Birmingham, but our staff are based all over the UK. Most of the Evaluation Team work to a hybrid model of home and the office; some work at home. We offer a voluntary compressed hours nine-day fortnight and other flexible working options.
