Whether youâre fresh out of school, switching careers, or looking for a hands-on, rewarding role, we welcome your unique perspective and experiences.\n\nWorking alongside experienced engineers at one of our depots, youâll help maintain our thousands of bridges, signals and hundreds of our level crossings, ensuring Scotlandâs Railway keeps moving.\n\nThe scheme lasts for three years. Youâll kick off year one with our training provider in East Kilbride, before moving into a placement at a Network Rail depot for years two and three. Get ready to embrace all weather conditions because weâre out there around the clock, come rain or shine but donât worry, weâll provide all the gear you need to stay safe, warm and comfortable.\n\n By the end of your apprenticeship, youâll earn your SCQF Level 7 in Engineering â Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance.\n\nThatâs just the beginning â you could even receive support and sponsorship from us to attend university and achieve professional qualifications.\n\nWhen you start your career with an Engineering Apprenticeship, the possibilities are endless. Flexibility is key, and your commitment to health and safety will keep us all on track.\n\nTo apply, youâll need a minimum of National 5s (or above) in English, a Science, and Maths at Grades A-C, along with one other subject at Grades A-C or equivalent. And donât forgetâyou need to be aged 18 or over on or before 11th August 2025 to come onboard the scheme.\n\nIt gets better If youâve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship or a relevant engineering qualification, youâll be ahead of the game. Weâll need you to provide evidence of your qualifications and demonstrate the skills youâve gained through your studies.
