REGULATORY COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Designer Parfums is a fast-growing company in the perfume and cosmetics industry, with a UK base operating Internationally. Brands include GHOST, JENNIFER LOPEZ, HAWAIIAN TROPIC, CERRUTI & PLAYBOY.
JOB PURPOSE
The Regulatory Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all cosmetic products comply with relevant regulations and standards in various markets. This role involves working closely with multiple departments, including NPD, Quality Assurance, and Marketing, to ensure that products are developed, manufactured, and marketed in compliance with global regulatory requirements.
The Regulatory Compliance Manager will be responsible for SADP Global Regulatory Compliance across all Brands, covering formulations to packaging and International Registrations. This role will include having one direct report. The successful candidate will oversee the Regulatory Compliance Officer.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES WORKING 4 DAYS FROM OUR OFFICE BASED IN WATFORD, AND 1 DAY OF WORKING FROM HOME.
KEYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure all products comply with local, regional, and international cosmetic regulations (e.g. FDA, EU, ASEAN, China etc.)
* Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and updates, and assess their impact on the company's product portfolio
* Develop and maintain regulatory documentation including Product Information Files (PIFs)
* Provide regulatory guidance during the product development process to ensure compliance from concept through to market launch
* Review and approve product formulations, ingredients, and labelling to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
* Provide support to the wider teams on fragrance briefing, fragrance submission assessment before liaising with fragrance houses to gather the necessary documentation for the approved selection
* Manage all testing phases of development, including stability testing process at external laboratories, claims substantiation where relevant, and safety assessment generation
* Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Act as primary point of contact for International Registrations
* Identify and assess regulatory risks associated with new and existing products
* Develop strategies to mitigate regulatory risks and ensure business continuity
* Responsibility for tracking multiple formulation developments in line with various project timelines and ensuring the multi-functional team are kept aware of progress
* Attend webinars and seminars to remain abreast on upcoming changes to existing regulations as well as newly introduced regulations on a global scale
* Communicate new legislative requirements and impact assessments within an appropriate time frame to ensure new legislation Is implemented at the most appropriate time with minimum possible impact on the business
* Leading packaging changes to comply with EU laws
* Working cross function to co-ordinate on going Ecovardis programme
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy or Chemistry or related discipline
* 3+ years’ experience in a regulatory role within the Beauty / FMCG industry
* Personal care formulation & ingredient knowledge is essential
* Experience with CPSR’s, PIF’s and INCI formation, working with Coptis or similar is ideal
* Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability
* Knowledge of EU & Global Packaging regulations
* Experience of recording & reporting packaging waste
* Experience of Corporate Company Policy writing
* ESG / Ecovardis contribution
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
* Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cosmetic regulatory compliance
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel
