Are you an inspiring leader looking for a new challenge within our learning disability service?
If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
We are currently looking for a registered manager to join us on a permanent basis at 65A and 65B Valley Road respite service and day service in Northallerton.
Our service is both busy and demanding but extremely rewarding. We provide a respite care service for adults with complex needs including autistic spectrum disorders or learning disabilities as well as offering respite for older adults with care and support needs. We are proud to say that we received a Good rating in our most recent CQC inspection. We have also been successful in gaining Autism accreditation status through the National Autistic Society.
Our service has been developed and designed in line with the values including choice, promotion of independence and inclusion. Our ambition is for people with learning disabilities and autism using the service to live as ordinary a life as any citizen.
65A Valley Road respite service is part of the Health and Adult Services, as well as the 65B Valley Road day service both delivered by North Yorkshire Council, committed to delivering services to its local community and providing opportunities for our local residents. We are proud of our successful record of accomplishment as a leading care service provider and we consistently appear amongst the top performing Councils in the country.
As Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward any changes we need to ensure we maintain our accreditation and deliver continuous improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring that the direct care and support provided is safe, effective, responsive, caring, well led and compliant.
A major part of the role will be ensuring that resources are used in a planned way in order to maintain an efficient and cost effective service which takes full account of both changing needs and resource availability whilst supporting care staff to work in accordance with individual care and service plans. You will also ensure close collaboration with people using the service, carers and your assessment and health colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for people.
Working in a changing environment, you will contribute towards our health and adult service meeting its aim of closer working relationships with health and other partners to deliver improved outcomes for vulnerable adults in North Yorkshire. Leading and managing a range of senior care and support staff and ensuring that the service complies with both the Care Quality Commission regulated activities as well as NYC policies and procedures is vital. A key part of your role will involve ensuring that the services are person centred and that staff support people to meet their personal outcomes.
All managers require a relevant qualification, registration with Care Quality Commission (CQC) and an enhanced DBS check.
To be successful, you will have extensive experience of working within Learning Disabilities, and/or Autism and supporting individuals who have a range of complex needs. As well as ensuring your service is safe, effective, responsive, caring and well led, the ability to be flexible, responsive and to work in an ever-changing environment will be essential. You will be part of a wider provider services team and therefore the ability to work across different services and provide resilience to provider services as a whole will be key. The service will be delivered on a 24/7 basis so you may be required to work a variety of shifts and be part of an out of hours on call service for the wider provider services.
In return, we are committed to providing you with ongoing support and training and the opportunity to further your career in other registered managers posts or look to progress to service manager level in the future. We can also offer you the opportunity to undertake further management training as and when required.
If this is not enough, we also have a wide range of benefits including generous annual leave entitlement, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and to our employee benefits scheme, flexible working and commitment to staff training and development.
If you are ready for your next challenge, we would like to hear from you!
