Location: Fletchers Bakery, Sheffield
Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
Salary: Competitive with Opportunity for Growth
We have a new opportunity for an experienced Materials Planner within our Supply Chain Team who would be based at our Fletchers Bakery in Sheffield.
Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a few.
Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Materials Planner’s key focus will be to ensure that both our Fletchers and Kara sites have an adequate flow of materials to enable production at the time required without disruption to the supply chain. The Materials Planner plays a key role in the effective and efficient planning of all Raw Material/Packaging for both Fletchers and Kara.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar planning role before and within a fast-paced environment previously. This is a role which requires the successful candidate to have good communication and influencing skills as well as the ability to work cross functionally.
This is what you’ll actually do!
As the Materials Planner you will be needing to identify optimum storage solutions and identify synergies for bulk purchasing of consignment stocks to provide factories with products at minimal cost and maximum efficiencies. It will be your role to also ensure that all health and safety standards are maintained at all times. You will liaise with Purchasing to ensure cross functional goals are met. You will ensure material availability to meet daily schedules on time and in full whilst making sure there is material availability at minimal cost.
A key part of this role will be to minimise and mitigate risks related to redundant stock as well as short shelf life materials. Management of the delist process for raw materials and packaging will also be necessary. Your IT skills should be strong as support with any new systems as and when required will be important to the role.
You will be working closely with suppliers and the Procurement team to resolve any gaps and delays in supply and you will be required to escalate as and when appropriate to resolve queries. The role will also require you to ensure stock is at the right target levels. As the Materials Planner you will work alongside other Material Planners at other sites within the wider group when necessary, to resolve any issues.
