About the role To support the growth within logistics and Retail Distribution, we are looking for a Transport Risk & Compliance Officer to cover the Midlands & South. Reporting into the Health & Safety Manager for Transport, you will ensure that all of Next’s new and current retail stores and trunking networks are compliant with access and that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate risks. Your role will be to conduct assessments at all delivery points locations and determine the level of risk. Following evaluation, you will review and update all safety briefs and action any necessary changes to ensure a safe working environment. By working closely with Managers in Regional Service Centres,, Transport and Stores, you will carry out regular visits and assess any required changes and audit compliance to all relevant policies and procedures. For any new store openings, you will carry out assessments and brief all relevant parties of required actions to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. About you We are looking for candidates who have previous experience as a Risk Assessor, ideally within a similar environment with good working knowledge of HSE legislation and British Standards. Alongside this, you will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a HGV Driver, with a full, clean CE Driving Licence. Candidates must be educated to a minimum level of GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English and be a competent PC user, ideally with Google Suite. You must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills; able to deliver user-friendly risk assessments and clear direction by building strong working relationships with all of your stakeholders. Flexibility is key as you will be required to undertake substantial travel and stay away from home when required. A NEBOSH qualification and membership of IOSH would be an advantage
