PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to help prospective team members better understand the role and responsibilities of the Regional Activation Hub Lead at OpenDoor, WPP’s bespoke global operating model for Amazon.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are searching for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our OpenDoor team as a Regional Activation Hub Lead. This is a Full-time position based in London. This role plays a crucial part in supporting WPP's mission to deliver consistency, delivery excellence, and best-in-class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses, including XCM, Prime Video, and RMI.
This role creates an effective link between the Strategy & Planning teams and Activation. The Activation Hub Lead and their team ensure that comprehensive briefs are developed in collaboration with the strategy and planning teams and that implementational planning specialists and in-platform experts meet clients’ expectations by achieving campaign KPIs timely and through operational excellence. They are also developing and supporting the delivery of tasks such as reporting output, offering insights, and recommendations across strategic planning and agency pitches.
This role would oversee the London hub, which includes RMI & Prime Video, working with a Poland nearshore team that will act as your team and local markets who will plan offline and IO-based market display/partnerships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* The Activation Hub Lead is responsible for the delivery and quality of hubbed Activation services, ad ops, and reporting, in adherence to agreed SLAs and assigned workflow management protocols, and for seamless integration and impact within the Campaign Delivery Process (in and across locales).
* The Activation Hub Lead works closely with the Regional Ops and LOB Leads in Germany and Warsaw on adjusting and scaling delivery in line with LOB evolution for Prime Video and RMI.
* The Activation Hub Lead will have all experts in the hub reporting to them, including Social, Programmatic, Implementational planning, offline consultancy, pan-regional IO/partnerships, influencers, and the near-shore Warsaw (Poland) channel activation team.
* The Activation Hub Lead will oversee all digital planning across all disciplines and support planning leads to create integrated single narrative responses to briefs that simplify complex digital language.
* The Activation Hub Lead will work closely with all local markets to guide and support their digital plan development and ensure local market executions ladder up into central digital planning to create integrated plans.
* This will be Amazon's London hub's most senior digital lead working with C-level internal WPP stakeholders and C-level Amazon stakeholders.
* You will be in charge of fostering team growth, team development, and team morale.
* The Activation Hub Lead is responsible for helping to inform a transformation agenda and strategic vision for the clients’ entire business, and overseeing the execution of that vision.
* This will often involve working closely with senior stakeholders across the whole organization including, but not limited to, global client leadership, local market CEOs, Commercial teams, Legal teams, and C-Suite level clients.
* The Activation Hub Lead will be responsible for team cost management and resourcing ensuring the team is staffed correctly according to commercial agreements.
* The Activation Hub Lead will ensure trading deals and Nexus media solutions deals are fulfilled, identifying new revenue opportunities for both Amazon and WPP.
* The Activation Hub Lead will take ownership of commercial conversations for the London hub and support the Poland hub when required.
* The Activation Hub Lead will integrate the Poland team into all working aspects of the operational flow from planning to execution, creating a single team that sits across marketplaces.
* Govern and manage all digital aspects of the PV business, Media, Data, Technology, Creative, Media Plans.
* Unify disparate streams of information and insights from all biddable channels, in the context of client business objectives.
* Help teams develop integrated experience strategies across biddable touchpoints, identifying strategic opportunities for proprietary solutions growth in service of solving client business problems.
* Guide clients and key internal or external stakeholders on selection and application of systems, tools, platforms, and proprietary solutions, enabling them with the proper resources and knowledge for successful implementation.
* Provide a consistent and strong POV to clients on digital investment decisions and areas of optimization.
* Proactively develop opportunities for proprietary solutions to be embedded within always-on campaigns to help drive distinctive and differentiated offerings to clients.
* Outline advanced data analytics/measurement frameworks to shape holistic measurement of performance media strategy and activation.
* Advise key stakeholders by continuously helping them successfully navigate through critical business changes, upselling larger digital scopes and services where they add value.
* Lead the development, presentation, and delivery of top-quality cross-channel planning work for larger campaigns.
* Plan against client outcomes – quantifying objectives and the likely impact of comms on them across all biddable practice areas, in collaboration with practice leads.
* Accountable for the ongoing management of performance across campaign budgets and daily spend levels, bid strategies, and constant monitoring of tracking to client goals - implementing course correction decisions when needed.
* Scrutinize performance planning budgets of assigned accounts to identify strengths and weaknesses and ensure proper financial allocations, protecting WPP's interests.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance clients’ campaigns and advise client/agency teams accordingly.
* Ensure a seamless connection translating plans to activation and achieving excellence in all campaign operations.
* Work with the planning team to agree on or challenge strategic planning outputs vs. real-time platform data and performance data (micro-budget setting).
* Build the digital process on how audiences are translated into actionable targetable groups in platform consistently across platforms.
* Set digital KPIs with the measurement team and optimize budgets across channels weekly based on opportunity.
* Challenge in-channel planning (Social, Prog, Pan Regional, Audience) team's responses per title to ensure platform excellence.
* Manage individual digital budget aspects, channel spends, tech fees, Brand safety fees, and tool fees - to ladder into Client leadership budgets.
* Create & police ways of digital working with offshore hubs & onshore planning.
* Set the digital learning agenda for all EU markets, manage Unlocks, introduce new product & data opportunities.
* Ensure WPP Solutions are planned and delivered across all briefs.
* Manage and monitor the holistic (cross-channel) brand safety, viewability, attention scoring & optimize accordingly.
* Take ownership of weekly holistic reporting calls, policing of data delivery, outcomes, commentary & analysis.
* Take ownership for every and all digital client (and internal) questions - both local and central.
* Manage analytics, data provisioning, and dashboarding teams to ensure delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Vast experience across digital paid media, strategy, retail, or consulting.
* Advanced understanding of multiple/at least 2+ digital practice areas by remaining current on leading trends and coaching junior team members on what they need to know.
* A strong background in biddable media is a must.
* Proven track record of managing complex, multi-market accounts where you’ve delivered measurable business outcomes.
* Ability to craft a compelling, data-driven story that is anchored in the client’s business need.
* Ability to anticipate challenges/opportunities and deliver highly persuasive, strategic & structured communication.
* Confident in forecasting budget during campaign delivery as many times as needed.
* Can lead a New Business commercial and operation submission with senior oversight.
* Experience in management of large multi-market and networked teams essential.
* Strong and vocal in strategic communication with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders at varying levels of seniority from C-suite down.
* Solutions-oriented and high levels of organization.
* An empathetic and thoughtful leader comfortable with working through detailed, written communications.
* Experience in the management of dynamic hubs.
