An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic midwife to join Saint Mary's MCS as Band 7 Lead Professional Midwifery Advocate. The post holder will support the deployment of the Advocating for Education and Quality Improvement model (AEQUIP) across all sites of Saint Mary's MCS.
Main duties of the job
The posts will include work alongside the Lead Midwife for Education, Matron for Maternity Workforce Team, and Maternity Managers to support the deployment of the Advocating for Education and Quality Improvement model (AEQUIP).
1. Demonstrate an awareness of diverse ethnic, cultural, and spiritual backgrounds and needs of patients, members of the public, and staff.
2. Actively promote and maintain confidentiality whilst adhering to information governance guidelines.
3. Ensure that accurate and contemporaneous records relating to the deployment of AEQUIP are maintained. Keep accurate records of PMA activity.
4. Contribute to the content of and lead on the design of documents and teaching aids.
5. Provide reports regarding AEQUIP deployment as requested and present in forums as required.
6. Collate audit data to report on activity, compliance, and effectiveness.
Clinical support:
1. Demonstrate clinical expertise and maintain competence in clinical skills.
2. Establish and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships, and effective communication with patients, visitors, and work colleagues.
3. Collaborate with and support teams to develop and improve services and deliver safe, compassionate care through regular RCS.
4. Actively support the supervision, development, and coaching of individual staff so that they may function effectively within their role and responsibilities.
5. Demonstrate inspirational, motivational, and visible leadership in the workplace.

* Registered Midwife on NMC Register with current UK midwifery practice experience
* Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
* Evidence of a degree
* Evidence of CPD and or short courses (modules)
Desirable
* PMA qualification
* Coaching qualification
* Mental health first aider
Experience

* Recent significant post registration experience as a midwife
* Relevant and recent care experience supporting colleagues in a pastoral, educational or supervision capacity
* Experience of delivering RCS
* Experience in mentoring, facilitating groups, and coaching others
* Experience of being a PMA/supervisor/assessor/preceptor or buddy
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in facilitating quality improvement initiatives
