Cyber Security Network Engineer
Team: Cyber Security – NOC
Reporting to: Cyber Security Operations NOC Manager
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Milton Keynes, Watford, or client sites
Type: Full-time, with 24/7 on-call rotation (flexible schedule)
About the Role:
Join our client’s dynamic Cyber Security NOC team at a leading tech solutions provider as a Cyber Security Network Engineer. Work remotely, supporting diverse clients in sectors such as finance, manufacturing, utilities, and retail. This role is hands-on, involving both problem-solving and client engagement to ensure 24/7 cyber security support and protection for critical infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and provide technical expertise across pre-sales, design, and implementation stages of complex cyber security projects.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to define technical requirements and support solution design.
* Participate in a flexible on-call rota, supporting incident management and problem resolution.
* Prepare and support service reporting and reviews.
* Travel as needed to deploy and maintain network, infrastructure, applications, and virtualization technologies.
* Provide expert technical guidance and maintain high customer service standards.
* Operate within an ITIL service delivery framework, ensuring services meet client SLAs and KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience: Approximately 10 years of hands-on experience in a similar role within IT Managed Services, national infrastructure, or high-critical environments like finance, manufacturing, or retail.
* Technical Skills:
o Cloud (AWS/Azure)
o Cisco (CCNP+, Nexus Switching, ASA/Firepower)
o Fortinet (ideally certified), Checkpoint (CCSE/CCSM), and Palo Alto firewalls
o VMware (ESXI, VSAN), Windows/Linux servers, and server rack management
o Load balancing, Opensense, IBMi, and network monitoring tools
o Knowledge of Defender/Sentinel SIEM Tooling
o Strong capability in High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD)
* Certifications: ITIL exposure; CISSP certification (achievable within 18 months).
