Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for an Insights Intelligence Officer for a regulator based in London.
Location – London (Hybrid, 1-2 days in the office)
Contract – Permanent
Salary – Starting from £33,000
The Insight Intelligence Officer is responsible for receiving, assessing, and managing risk information and regulatory concerns. This role involves providing expert advice on data and intelligence sharing, developing effective partnerships with stakeholders, and supporting safeguarding efforts within the regulator.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Develop comprehensive knowledge of regulatory intelligence risk management, the NMC’s regulatory functions, and the impact on strategic and operational levels.
* Understand and share intelligence about Approved Education Institutions (AEIs), healthcare systems regulation in the UK, and other professional registers.
* Stay updated on whistleblowing and safeguarding legislation, data protection laws, and the NMC’s role as a Prescribed Person.
* Work with the Data Protection Officer to complete Data Protection Impact Assessments for the Insight Team.
* Manage incoming intelligence and outgoing information according to processes and policies.
* Respond to information and intelligence from various sources, both internal and external.
* Conduct research and simple analysis to identify patterns, trends, risks, and concerns, and escalate findings for strategic analysis.
* Develop intelligence reports and briefings for operational use, summarising key findings accurately.
* Develop partnerships and networks with peers in other regulatory bodies, national safeguarding agencies, and partner organisations.
* Liaise with strategic stakeholders, arranging and attending meetings, and taking notes/actions.
* Write clear, consistent, and relevant communications with stakeholders.
* Follow governance processes for logging activities and managing documents.
* Assist in implementing and reviewing processes and best practices for the Insight Team.
Person Specification
Experience & Skills
* Extensive experience as an intelligence officer/researcher in regulatory or enforcement settings, with expertise in open-source intelligence and strategic research for identifying risks.
* Proven track record in producing intelligence risk reports and managing safeguarding concerns.
* Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, with strong knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection laws.

* Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills, and the ability to develop team processes and promote collaboration.
* High attention to detail, complex problem-solving, and effective decision-making under pressure.

* Self-motivated, proactive, and resilient, with critical thinking and strategic insight.
