Background and Objectives
* Through our Global Commercial Services (GCS) division, American Express offers powerful backing and support that helps companies of all sizes gain financial savings, control and efficiency. We provide a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, global payments, currency solutions, and business financing. Within GCS, the Corporate Program Product Management (CPPM) organization owns product capabilities and supports FX and Global Payments, one of the fastest growing segments of our business.
* The Global Pay (GP) Product team is working on a large-scale digital transformation programme and needs a resource to manage product development around our partner Trading, Payment Gateway, Reconciliation, Liquidity Monitoring and Payments Investigation platforms. This role will also be responsible for managing a team of up to 4 resources, reporting to the GP Product Development Director.
* They must have superb relationship skills to manage internal and external stakeholders, strong analytical skills to understand and breakdown complex requirements and be able to manage & prioritise multiple tasks consecutively.
How you will make an impact in this role?
* Manages FIS Suite of Applications (Sierra, Trax, Intellimatch, Intraday Liquidity Monitor and Payment Investigations Manager) product team analyst’s time and capacity, ensuring cross training of all the applications.
* Performs the role of Senior Product Owner and Agile champion leading the FIS applications Product team along with providing coaching & mentoring.
* Creates and manages features / user stories within Rally tool in addition to managing various agile ceremonies such as Backlog refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Ups and sprint retrospectives.
* Works with extended Global Pay Product team and ensure timely delivery of the features required as per Global Pay roadmap.
* Provides technical support activities across Development, Test, UAT and Production environments.
* Analyses and resolves problems related to failures in application and ancillary software components.
* Provides technical assistance to extended Global Pay Product, Technologies, Operations, Product Support, and Application Support staff.
* Creates and maintains complete documentation as it relates to installation and status of supported software.
* Works closely with clients and business partners to understand business and technology requirements that drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with AMEX architectural standards.
* Analyses business and technical requirements; translate those requirements into product designs and configuration and works on the development & delivery in Agile model.
* Document, implement, integrate and maintain supporting application components for IT operations management software.
* Manages governance forum with FIS and Amex teams to ensure timely resolution of the issues across environments.
* Manages regular upgrades to all the FIS applications to ensure latest product level features are incorporated seamlessly.
* Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems.
* Plans, analyses and forecasts activities to plan projects and tasks.
* Provide guidance to other technical professionals.
* Writes technical specifications and other forms of documentation.
* Demonstrates subject matter expertise of FIS Suite of applications (post training).
* Writes test plans and test cases to ensure enhancements made to applications meet client needs and application integrity is maintained.
* Demonstrated knowledge of financial services industry.
* Must have a strong knowledge of the FIS applications we support.
* Proficiency in business modelling and business requirements definition disciplines.
* Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure projects are successfully completed.
* Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors.
* Excellent user focused skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for business users.
* Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources.
* Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
