We are looking for an experienced Jet Vac Tanker operator/ driver.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Jet Vacuum Tanker Driver to operate specialized vehicles designed for cleaning and maintaining sewer systems, drains, and various industrial sites. This role is crucial to ensuring safe, efficient, and clean wastewater and drainage services for both commercial and public sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving and operating a jet vacuum tanker, in line with company policy and procedure, conducting maintenance checks, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:
Safely operate a jet vacuum tanker to carry out cleaning, vacuuming, and jetting tasks on drainage systems, gullies, pump stations and interceptors. Coordinate with the maintenance team for scheduled servicing and more extensive repairs.
2. Service Execution:
Follow work schedules and assignments to complete cleaning and waste removal tasks in a timely manner. Utilize high-pressure jetting equipment to break up blockages, remove debris, and flush out contaminants in various drainage systems. Collect and transport liquid waste or sludge to designated disposal sites, complying with local and environmental regulations.
3. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, road regulations, and industry standards while driving and operating equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including managing spill containment and waste disposal. Complete and maintain necessary documentation, such as service logs, waste manifests, and safety checklists, accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safe disposal practices to minimize risk to the environment and public health.
4. Customer Interaction:
Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally and courteously with clients on-site. Explain service details, answer questions, and address client concerns as they arise.
Required Qualifications:
1. Licensing and Certification:
Hold a valid license with a clean driving record. Certification in confined space entry and high-pressure jetting operations preferred.
2. Experience:
Previous experience driving and operating a jet vacuum tanker or similar vehicle in liquid waste management or a related field. Familiarity with drainage systems, wastewater management, and industrial cleaning procedures.
3. Skills:
Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team and independently. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
4. Physical Requirements:
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and handling physically demanding tasks. Capable of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Applicant must be competent in the following:
* Have at least 2-3 years operating within the drainage industry.
* Clean and valid Class 1 or 2 UK Driving License.
* Willing to work evenings, weekends and overtime as required.
* To arrive to work in a fit and ready condition.
* To comply / Adhere to company HSEQ Policies, Procedures, and associated documentation.
* Willing to work on call.
* Training courses offered.
Schedule:
* 10-hour shift
* Monday-Friday
Salary:
£40,000.00 - £80,000.00 per year (Subject to experience and overtime, etc).
