About Us Our solo-placement childrens home in Walsall is dedicated to providing personalised, high-quality care for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The Role We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to provide one-to-one support to a child with EBD. This is a meaningful role in which you will help create a secure and nurturing environment tailored to the individual needs of the child. Your role will involve building trust, providing guidance, and promoting emotional and behavioural stability through consistent care. the hours at 8am until 11 pm on a 3 on 3 off rotating rota (with alternative weekends off) Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated, compassionate care in all aspects of daily life, including support in educational and recreational settings. Develop and implement a personalised care plan that addresses the unique needs and goals of the child. Observe and respond to behaviours with patience and empathy, helping the child to manage challenges in a constructive way. Foster a positive, trusting relationship with the child, encouraging open communication and personal growth. Drive the child to appointments, activities, and other commitments, ensuring safety and well-being during journeys. Maintain thorough and accurate records of the childs progress, behaviours, and any significant incidents. Work closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals to provide cohesive, holistic care for the child. Participate in ongoing training to build skills relevant to supporting children with EBD and staying informed on best practices. Requirements Prior experience working with children, ideally in residential care or support roles, with a focus on EBD. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members. Good IT skills for recording observations and progress. A full, clean driving licence is preferred for transporting the child as needed. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) is essential.
