Summary Of The Role
The CICB (Corebridge Insurance Company of Bermuda) Associate Actuary will be a member of the Corebridge Actuarial Modernization team. The models developed by Actuarial Modernization team on AXIS platform will be used to produce statutory, GAAP, reinsurance and economic projections which will directly support valuation, capital management, asset liability management, and regulatory projections. This role will primarily support the CICB model QA activities related to Bermuda based valuation and reinsurance settlement. This role will be based in Bermuda and will have frequent and regular interaction with BMA regulators, both onshore and offshore valuation model owners, business line CFA team, actuarial control team, model production team and IT team.
Responsibilities
* Lead Bermuda EBS model QA activities for all insurance products reinsured to CICB, which include:
o Create and maintain benchmark testing tools, including developing spreadsheets/programs based on model specifications to replicate model functionality and assembling benchmark data for model comparisons.
o Execute test plans and test tools to validate and certify AXIS model implementation under Bermuda EBS basis.
o Review and validate data transformation process for all model inputs that come into AXIS model.
o Ensure all steps of the testing process are fully documented.
* Support BAU model change impact analysis such as assumption updates, methodology improvements, regulatory required changes, etc.
* Support ad hoc analysis requested by model owners.
* Provide analysis needed to support model owners’ UAT activities.
* Work with ACMG to ensure model change control process is followed. Help ACMG and model owners to address internal and external questions.
* Work with IT to ensure all approved model/data changes are promoted to production environment.
* Work with production team to conduct integration testing after promotion is done.
Position Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, or related fields.
* ASA with a minimum of 5 years of experience post ASA. FSA is strongly preferred.
* Experience with Moody’s AXIS preferred.
* Experience with reinsurance and Bermuda regulation preferred.
* Experience with annuities and pension risk transfer deals.
* Solid programming and data analytics experience. SQL, VBA, C++ or equivalent are preferred but not required.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to cope with stress and fast-pace changes.
