An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated and Specialist Medicine Clinical Group at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for a Director of Operations and Partnerships. The role of Director of Operations and Partnerships is a pivotal position, crucial to the day-to-day operational management of the Trust. We seek candidates with extensive operational experience who are ready to make a significant impact within one of the UK's largest acute hospital trusts. As a high-profile and complex role, it demands extensive relevant experience and a unique set of personal attributes to deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic and agile setting.
Main duties of the job
The Director of Operations and Partnerships will provide strategic leadership by developing and implementing operational strategies to ensure delivery of operational excellence and high-quality services. There are two Director of Operations and Partnerships posts for the eight directorates within the Clinical Group. The posts collaboratively support and manage these Directorates to ensure high performance and quality is delivered across the wide portfolio of clinical services. The post will manage operational budgets and identify opportunities for savings while ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, mitigate operational risks, represent the Clinical Group at cross-organisational meetings and deputise for the Clinical Group Chief Executive. By fostering cross-departmental collaboration with clinical, administrative, and executive teams and engaging external stakeholders across the South East London (SEL) region; the Director of Operations and Partnerships will promote integration, consistency and innovation in service delivery. Regular reporting and communication to the CEO, senior leadership and external partners will ensure transparency, strengthen stakeholder relationships and support continuous performance improvement.

Knowledge/Qualifications Essential:
* Masters level or equivalent qualification/ experience
* A proven and extensive track record of senior level strategic and operational management with responsibility for the full range of operational and clinical services in a large organization or systems.
Skills Essential:
* Ability to lead the redesign of services to ensure they are delivered to the highest standard and are cost effective
* Ability to work at a very senior level with a multi-professional group of staff
* Ability to problem solve using complex information, setting deliverable goals and monitoring performance
Experience Essential:
* Ability to lead change with and through the Trust's senior clinical team, by engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans, establishing clear work priorities with them, delegating effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance and giving feedback
* Demonstrable expertise in clinical, service and business management functions including in the application of HR and finance to achieve outcomes in agreed timeframes
* Ability to work constructively with internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful collaborations
