Job Description
We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR team at our Tilbury site. This role is based in Tilbury but will require regular weekly travel to Haverhill.
As HR Business Partner, you will act as the first point of contact for all people-related matters and partner with key stakeholders to drive improvements in business performance through effective people management solutions.
You will design, develop, and implement solutions within the HR framework of activity that seek to add value and deliver required business changes in a legally compliant, expedient, and cost-effective manner.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a market leader.
Job responsibilities of HR Business Partner include:
* Work in partnership with site management teams to design and deliver effective people plans.
* Provide effective HR advice and support to site management teams as required, escalating high-risk ER cases.
* Ensure the fair application of HR policies and procedures through guidance, advice, and coaching.
* Utilise MI to facilitate a proactive response to areas of risk/concern.
* Review trends in ER issues in order to identify potential issues and work with site management team to resolve.
* Support Head of HR Compliance with tribunal cases and ACAS intervention as required.
* Ensure organisational structures are aligned, up-to-date, and support business goals.
* Support and implement a proactive approach to attraction, recruitment, and selection activities, ensuring solutions are cost-effective, future-focused, and appropriate for purpose.
* Work with site management teams to ensure a robust succession plan is in place for all key roles.
* Ensure underperformance is addressed using appropriate policies.
* Ensure development of individuals is identified and delivered in conjunction with the L+D team.
* Work with managers to ensure employee issues are resolved quickly and where possible informally.
* Coach line managers to ensure they are competent in tackling ER issues in an appropriate manner.
* Through customer understanding, effectively utilise the support of the Centralised HR teams in relation to recruitment, training, and reward.
* Participation in recruitment and selection activities of senior leadership roles where required.
* Monitor employee engagement levels and take appropriate action as required, escalating bright spots and red flags to HR Director/Head of HR Operations/Senior HRPB.
* Work closely with the site management team to ensure survey action plans are created and delivered.
* Embed and support site I+C meetings ensuring they affect change.
* Work closely with Occupational Health to effectively manage long-term sickness cases and management referrals.
* Ensure that all processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
* Ensure consistency of approach across designated business areas.
* Continuously review the local marketplace to foresee challenges ahead and address.
* Influence the development of HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of the business.
* Delivery of projects in line with legal obligations and company values i.e., TUPE, restructure, redundancy.
* Support, facilitate, and/or coordinate HR projects cross-functionally and across all business areas as required.
* Challenge costs within the business.
* Ensure all systems/employee files are up to date with accurate employee details.
Qualifications
To apply for the role of HR Business Partner, you will possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:
* CIPD qualification or equivalent
* HR legislative understanding and knowledge
* Proven experience in advising on HR associated matters
* Experienced in facilitating organisational change
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Highly organised and efficient
* Adaptable/flexible
* Positive and credible with the ability to build trust, respect, and openness
* Commercial and proactive mindset
* Objectivity – partnering local business but retaining perspective
* Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
* High level of IT skills using MS Office suite
