THE COMPANY
A well-established local service business, based on the outskirts of Rugeley, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a friendly and professional team within a growing organisation.
THE ROLE
The role of Credit Controller reports to the Accounts Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of the accounts department. Your responsibilities will include:
• Processing sales invoices
• Managing credit control, processing monthly rebates, conducting credit checks on new customers, and setting appropriate credit limits
• Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Handling accounts queries and resolving discrepancies.
• Managing payments and receipts in a timely manner.
• Creating invoices and maintaining well-organised financial records.
• Communicating professionally with customers and suppliers.
• Allocating cash, reconciling accounts, and monitoring transactions.
• Attending meetings, taking minutes, and keeping accurate records.
• Liaising with internal departments and external contacts to investigate and resolve financial issues.
• Processing sales invoicing and credit notes via Sage 50 and client portals.
REQUIREMENTS
This role provides essential clerical and administrative support, either independently or as part of a team, to ensure the smooth operation of the business. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with proficiency in financial software and IT, are essential.
Key requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in credit control
• Strong knowledge of finance functions, including sales and purchase ledger.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and work effectively under pressure.
• A proactive and team-oriented approach with a problem-solving mindset.
