You will be part of an area wide neuropsychology service which currently provides highly specialised assessment, therapy and consultation within the acute hospitals, neurorehabilitation services and specialist neurological condition teams. You will have the opportunity to work clinically across all these areas whilst also having a role in service development, research and training within a specialised area of the service. The service has excellent working relationships with non-psychology colleagues and you will be required to provide advice, consultation and supervision, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. For further information regarding the Neuropsychology Service Role please click the link below to view the Additional Information Pack Hours: 14.9 Hours Per Week What you will do: This Senior Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychology post will deliver to our Neuropsychology Service in Ayrshire and Arran, with a specific remit for leading service developments to improve access to psychologically informed and skilled care for people with long term neurological conditions. You will provide sessional input into Neurology, Acute Liaison Services, Neuro-rehabilitation and Stroke, and requires experience of delivering cognitive assessment and intervention. Applications are invited from clinicians working across specialities. You will have experience of service development activities, alongside associated audit and research. The Neuropsychology Service places a strong emphasis on governance and CPD. Opportunities for further training are available. The department has strong links across disciplines locally as well as national services and networks. Supervision of other disciplines, as well as doctoral trainees, will be a core aspect of the role. You will also require line management responsibility for a small number of staff. For further information on the role please click the link below to view the job description Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: You should have a Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the HCPC, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. You must be HCPC Registered for this role. This post requires you to have experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings. This includes skill in maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse. Given our pan-Ayrshire service across three Partnership areas, a car owner and driver is preferable, however this is not essential to the role.
