Garage Coffee Roasters is a speciality coffee business with stores across East Kent. We source and roast high grade, speciality coffee and serve through our shops and wholesale partners.
This Spring we are opening a cafe at our flagship Roastery site in Sturry, just outside of Canterbury and we need an excellent Cafe Manager at the helm! As well as our coffee offering we will also be serving brunch/lunch and are looking to be a hub for local events (coffee based and non-coffee based alike!) so our Cafe Manager needs a great creative vision, as well as top organisational & execution skills.
Hours: 40 hours per week across 5 days, Wednesday-Sunday
Pay: £28,600.00 per annum

What you’ll be doing:
1. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the shops, maintaining excellent front and back of house standards.
2. Delivering great customer service and inspiring those around you.
3. Sharing Garage Coffee’s mission and vision with customers and staff.
4. Training, encouraging, and motivating the team to hit targets and serve the best quality product.
5. Maintain good awareness and control of stock, minimising wastage but ensuring the shops are always fully stocked.
6. Supporting the Operations Manager in their role and completing all tasks set.
7. Delegating tasks to other members of staff to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the shops.
8. Leading in ensuring staff are consistent in their coffee standards, assisting in their upskilling and communicating any coaching needs to the Coffee Coach.
9. Leading the delivery and execution of our brunch/lunch savoury food offering.
10. Managing stock orders, ensuring you always get the best price and product.
11. Effectively communicating with upline, making sure issues and queries are dealt with efficiently.
12. Closely monitoring and being responsible for sales targets for your shop, thinking of innovative ways to increase sales, and responding to customer demand.
13. Maintaining good relationships with customers and key contacts.
14. Pitching in with other duties that are not directly related to your job description as needed.
What you need - the must haves:
1. Adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain clean and tidy coffee shops at all times.
2. Must have a passion for speciality coffee!
3. At least one year of working in a Supervisor or Manager role in hospitality.
4. A passion for working with people.
5. Be enthusiastic and adaptable, ready to lead and inspire others.
6. Great communication skills with a ‘can-do’ team attitude.
7. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and think critically.
8. Excellent organisational skills, taking pride in ensuring the smooth running of the shops.
