Senior Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive the design, development, and integration of medium-voltage systems for innovative thermal energy storage solutions. In this role, you will lead efforts to deliver high-performance electrical solutions for energy storage systems, enabling flexible, zero-carbon heating for a growing market. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:
* Develop and execute electrical designs and testing protocols for medium-voltage systems, ranging from 1MW to 20MW, to support the advancement of energy storage technologies.
* Specify and manage the procurement of high-voltage equipment, including substations, transformers, LV and HV switchgear, while coordinating with suppliers and contractors.
* Lead electrical system safety reviews and compliance evaluations, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
* Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of medium-voltage systems, offering technical expertise to cross-functional teams.
* Generate and maintain detailed documentation, including one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and specifications, as well as technical assessments and reports.
* Prepare requirements and oversee power system studies, such as load flow, short circuit, and protective coordination analyses, while managing external contractors and subcontractors.
* Provide technical support in pre-sales activities and collaborate with internal teams to identify optimal solutions for customer projects.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in medium-voltage electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of LV and HV switchgear, controls, and transformer integration.
* Detailed knowledge of standards, codes, and safety requirements in the electrical sector.
* Proven experience in design development, installation, and commissioning, with an operational management background considered advantageous.
* Familiarity with electrical distribution network connections, system-level electrical design, and drawing preparation.
