At Epsom and St Helier Hospitals, we value respect and live our shared behaviours of kindness, professionalism, positivity, and teamwork.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and motivated individual to join our small, specialist team of neuro-specialist therapists at St Helier Hospital. The post involves assessment and treatment of patients who require specific neurological therapies whilst on the St Helier Site.
Whilst the majority of our neurological patients within the trust receive input at Epsom Hospital, some patients are not able to be transferred or require specialist medical input at St Helier, generating a caseload of neuro patients who are often complex and clinically provoking.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for highly specialist, evidence-based assessment, treatment, management, and discharge planning for referred patients. Currently based at St. Helier Hospital, these are patients with neurological conditions requiring neuro-therapy intervention, across all wards. The postholder will work closely with a neuro-physiotherapist to provide and facilitate appropriate holistic management, rehabilitation, and advice to patients, staff, and carers.
The postholder will teach and support therapy staff, technicians, and students as appropriate and provide training, support, and advice to other members of the MDT regarding appropriate patient management. They will be expected to participate in the development and monitoring of this service and service standards, contribute to weekend rotas, and to other clinical areas in need as required.
Working for our organisation
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. We serve an area rich in diversity, covering both prosperous and poorer areas.
