Key responsibilities:
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as Project Manager. In this position, you will be working as part of the wider Projects team, where you will be responsible for seeing a project from its initial planning stages through to completion. You will largely be responsible for overseeing infrastructure projects.
* Oversee allocated projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
* Ensure all team members and functional work stream leads uphold the company's standards throughout each project.
* Management of a complex set of activities, which will have conflicts and compromises to be evaluated, agreed and managed.
* Embed PM standards and governance within the function and throughout various internal functions.
* Support the PMO in coordinating all project plans into one overall programme, fully transparent to all key stakeholders.
* Understanding the H&G UK business, and ensuring their projects fully align to the long term vision.
* Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
* Manage the deployment of individual projects within the programme ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and with required standards of quality.
* Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
* Initiate Post Implementation Reports (PIR) including benefit realisation, and Lessons Learned Report.
* Support the communication of the overall programme.
* Build and manage an effective deployment team to achieve the timing and objectives of the projects.
* Review and actively manage the risks and issues for all projects in their responsibility.
* Reporting:
o Manage the monitoring and reporting of their assigned projects to key stakeholders and the H&G UK SMT (Senior Management Team).
o Maintain individual project KPI’s that track the progress to both plan and budget.
* Budget management:
o Track and monitor costs of projects, ensuring Finance governance is followed.
o Leading the development of assigned Business Cases in alignment with the Regional Investment.
* Development of business cases:
o Business Case process, including gathering data and information to support the Business and financial justification.
o Support functional teams and HODs in business processes for requesting investments.
* Stakeholder engagement:
o Identify and obtain necessary business support for the management, planning and control of the projects.
o Develop constructive partnerships with the functions of procurement, facilities, real estate, security, engineering, finance, IT, DHL Air, Hub Ops, C&L, customs, NCG, Network Ops and Express to ensure successful cross-functional working and implementation of projects.
o Act as the primary interface for each specific deployment project between field operations management, property, HR, IS, ensuring that the plans for operational excellence are challenging and achievable.
* Safety:
o All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.
o You are expected to take appropriate action when any situation occurs that could create a serious or imminent risk to the Health and Safety of yourself or any person whilst at work.
o You must conduct yourself in an orderly manner within the workplace, ensuring that correct uniform and PPE is worn when required.
You’ll bring to this role:
* Minimum three years relevant large project management experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Prince2 methodology and linear process-based project management is essential.
* Exceptional project management skills.
* Good understanding of the necessary project management controls, execution and control principles and critical path management - PRINCE2 to optimize the program delivery.
* Proven experience in multi-discipline projects management / change management.
* Experience facilitating large project multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to coordinate tasks to project teams and facilitate flow of work.
* Well-developed project/process management, prioritising and analytical skills with strong business acumen.
* Proven ability in report writing, PowerPoint presentation and ability to prepare analytical reports.
* Required qualifications:
* Good standard of education (ideally to first degree level standard or equivalent experience and development within the working environment).
* Recognised project management qualification (ideally PRINCE2 or equivalent).

* A safety first attitude. You must conduct yourself in an orderly manner within the workplace, ensuring that correct uniform and PPE is worn when required.
