What you will be doing:
Here at LNER we're working on some large-scale, exciting projects and have ambitious plans to drive innovation and transformation in the rail industry. To support with this, we're looking for a Digital PMO Manager to join our Digital Delivery team, ensuring adherence to the Digital portfolio governance and ultimately enabling the successful delivery of a broad range of LNER Digital projects.
Within this role, you'll ensure that all projects adhere to agreed best practice and that standard approaches are in place for tracking costs, quality and delivery timescales across the portfolio. Working alongside a team of Project Managers, you'll be able to provide insight at a portfolio level to enable project prioritisation, resource allocation and planning.
You'll also be involved in:
* Ensuring the successful implementation of the Digital Portfolio governance through all its stages, defining and embedding appropriate project controls using various tools including MS Excel and KeyedIn (our PPM tool).
* Ensuring quality project level reporting is taking place and assisting the Programme Manager in reporting through various governance boards, such as Technology Board & Programme Board.
* Maintaining portfolio level action logs.
* Managing portfolio project lists.
* Managing and compiling portfolio level financial and KPI information for various reporting, such as board packs, period reporting and timesheet cross charging.
* Providing support to the Digital HOD's with the annual and subsequent quarterly finance reviews and budget setting with Finance, aligned to the Digital Strategy.
* Providing and maintaining a resource capacity planning and tracking service across the Digital Portfolio to assist Senior management with capacity management decisions.
* Ensuring efficient change control methods and processes are designed and embedded.
* Understanding the company project roadmap and pipeline requirements to report on and validate the project & programme roadmap (progress, resource, budget, risks & issues) providing a central view to the Digital team.
What you'll need:
* We're looking for someone who is an experienced PMO Manager, with excellent knowledge of Programme and Project Management best practice, methodologies and PPM tools.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to assimilate all portfolio information and present high-quality reporting, tracking and management information.
* Ability to challenge and influence decision making.
* Experience of financial management and planning.
* Ability to work with and lead Project Managers to follow best practice and governance.
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise and delegate effectively.
* Confidence in challenging the norm and bringing new ideas to the table.
* With offices based in York and London, we're flexible on location, providing you're happy to travel.
