Job Title: Decontamination Engineer
Location: Static Site, Portsmouth
Salary: GBP35,000 : GBP37,000 + GBP3,630 shift allowance
Shift Pattern: Days and Lates (1 weekend in 4, with additional days off during the week)

Job Overview: As a Decontamination Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the sites medical and technical equipment by adhering to strict decontamination processes and protocols. You will be working within a dynamic, static environment and must have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform decontamination of medical and technical equipment to meet established standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure all decontamination processes are carried out efficiently and safely in line with HTM2010 and HTM2030 guidelines.
* Maintain accurate records of decontamination activities and ensure all equipment is fully compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
* Carry out weekly process control testing and maintenance of all decontamination plant
* Ranging for Automated Endoscope Reprocessers, Washer Disinfectors, Porous load Sterilizers, Small Load sterilizers, Ultrasonic Cleaners, Reverse Osmosis Plants and steam generators.
* Collaborate with other team members to meet site objectives and ensure a seamless operation.
* Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on decontamination equipment.
* Ensure proper stock levels of decontamination supplies are maintained.
* Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, promoting a safe working environment.
* Participate in the on:call rota and cover 1 weekend in 4 (with additional days off during the week).
Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential: City and Guilds HTM2010 and HTM2030 or equivalent (or experience in a similar field).
* Strong understanding of decontamination processes and regulations.
* Previous experience in a similar role within the healthcare or technical field is preferred.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem:solving skills.
* Effective communication skills and ability to follow strict guidelines.
