OCU are looking for an experienced Fleet Supervisor to Join the Plant & Transport Team in Borehamwood. As the Fleet Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within our fleet department, ensuring the efficient utilisation of vehicles, equipment, and personnel. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders to achieve operational objectives. Resposibilities Oversee the internal and external fleet hire requirements for the business and improve utilisation of owned assets. • Monitor fleet activities and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, and other relevant documentation. Leadership and direction to the hire desk administration staff • Help assist with the leadership and direction to a team of drivers and mechanics. • Conduct regular meetings with fleet personnel to communicate expectations, provide feedback, and address any concerns or issues. • Oversee vehicle maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that all vehicles are well-maintained, safe to operate, and compliant with regulatory requirements. • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to fleet operations, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations. • Coordinate training programs for drivers and other fleet personnel to enhance their skills, knowledge, and compliance with safety standards and best practices. • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their performance goals and develop their careers within the organisation. • Assist in the procurement process for new vehicles, equipment, and services, evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective solutions. Skills & Experience • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferably within a fleet management or a related field. • Preferred knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance requirements. • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, and vendors. • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. • Strong Knowledge Microsoft office and Excel • Proficiency in using systems, preferably fleet management software and other relevant technology tools. • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. • Relevant qualifications or certifications in fleet management, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
