General information Reference 003266 Location United Kingdom, Home Worker UK, Home Worker UK Work Place Hybrid Region UK Job Profile Lockton - Experienced Professional Title H&S / Claims Defensibility Legal Consultant Description Due to continued growth in the team, Lockton Risk Control Services are looking for an experienced claims defensibility/legal consultant, specialising in UK health and safety (H&S) law, to join their Casualty team operating across the UK. Role Responsibilities: As a H&S/claims defensibility legal consultant, you will be working with Lockton’s clients across a diverse range of industries, helping businesses to better understand their H&S legal liabilities, and how to proactively improve their defensibility against criminal/civil legal action. The role will include: Advising clients on how to improve their defensibility against personal injury/illness claims. Providing guidance to clients on how to positively manage regulatory visits/investigations by the HSE/Local Authority/Fire & Rescue Service. Helping clients to improve their H&S documentary records to put them in a better position to avoid/defend regulatory action/prosecution. Developing and delivering client training sessions, such as on the duties of Directors and Senior Leadership Teams, criminal/civil mock trials, accident investigation, contractor management, etc. Building strong working relationships with external clients and the internal client management and broking teams across the Lockton business. Helping to develop our Casualty consultancy services as the team continues to grow. Candidate Profile Candidate Profile Ideally you will be: A qualified lawyer or legal executive, specialising in UK personal injury/H&S law. Experienced in assisting clients with the defence of civil claims and/or criminal prosecutions. Experienced in conducting claims defensibility reviews of H&S documentation. Able to clearly explain legal information using plain English language. Confident in delivering training courses, including to C-suite audiences. Able to produce clear, professional reports for clients, with pragmatic recommendations. Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and third parties, and have a friendly, supportive, professional approach. Based in the South East / London / East Anglia / Midlands area and hold a full UK driving licence. Willing to travel to client sites across the UK, including overnight stays where required.
