Our client, an independent operator, is currently recruiting for the position of Topsides Manager. This will be for a long-term contract role based in Aberdeen supporting multiple projects. This will be available on a limited company or PAYE basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
Implement project management best practices to achieve project goals efficiently.
2. Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
3. Budget and Cost Control:
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures.
Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
4. Stakeholder Communication:
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders including host management, engineering contractors, suppliers, offshore operations, and government bodies.
Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Address concerns and issues in a timely and transparent manner.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize workplace incidents.
Foster a culture of safety among project teams.
6. Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control processes to meet industry standards.
Establish regular inspections and audits to ensure project deliverables meet quality requirements.
7. Team Leadership:
Provide leadership and direction to project teams.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Attend Emergency Response training and be an active member of the AHUKL Emergency Response Team.
8. Procurement and Vendor Management:
Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection and contract negotiations.
Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
9. Process Engineering:
A thorough understanding of Topside Process Engineering in Oil and Gas is required.
A working understanding of Process modelling would be advantageous.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
1. BSc Honours or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
2. Significant proven experience as a Project Manager in the oil and gas industry.
3. Strong understanding of oil and gas exploration and production processes.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
7. Proficient in project management tools and software.
8. Process modelling experience/knowledge i.e. Hysis would be advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
1. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
2. Membership of relevant professional institution.
3. Offshore certifications (BOSIET, HUET, MIST etc.) required.
4. Willingness to be part of the Emergency Response Management Team.
